Looks cool. My only concern is the weight from the metal piston head and the valve inside of it. I wouldn't be comfy with this going over 25rps. But as they said, it's for high fps guns, which is quite practical. ie. Someone with a 450fps gun can take it down to 360ish for a CQB field instead of getting a crawler barrel. But then again people can use it to cheat the chrono, just like the concern with the P* system.
But I am surprised on the consistency with each setting though. The velocity variation was pretty much the same for each setting, including no port.

My thoughts exactly. I also wonder if the piston head can be swapped with others or if it is a proprietary system of piston and piston head.

I would also add that if the valve is not easily knocked out of position, it might be allowed on fields. But no guarantee to that being true.

Everthing i said in FA, but here, i cant cut/paste from phone and my essay is long and nit fun to type.

Staff edit: ...so I did it for you:

Like its been said on ASM, bad idea, big metal rod down barrel = bad for barrel/bucking, valve on piston head will kill ur consistancy, plus it opens the doors for more cheating by anyone, im not going to lie, its a pretty stupid idea when getting a new spring is so easy. I wouldnt buy this for ANY reason and i wouldnt suggest it to any of my friends builds. Thats my 2ยข..

Well, the video certainly makes its performance look good. However, I have seen other videos that show sub-par performance, as in massive deviations in velocity. My guess is that in this video they were rather selective about the clips from chronoing. For instance, the people who made the thing have a video that show deviations as large as +-20fps. It makes sense when you think about it. This is basically a piston head with a hole in it. Turning the screw makes the compression worse and worse. So yes, the power output goes down. But with it goes your consistency. You may also risk losing too much gas volume which would result in even worse consistency and pathetic velocity. So yes, lower velocity, but also crap consistency.

But beyond the lacking efficacy of the product, this also poses some risk as far as making the gearbox last. For one, the piston head is metal. Metal piston head = bad the vast majority of the time. They are heavy and they transfer energy to the shell much more efficiently, meaning cracked gearboxes if you're not careful. But the weight is also a problem because it's very hard on the pickup tooth of the piston (and to a minor extent, slow piston return time). This is made even more of a problem because we don't know how good this piston is, or if it can even be replaced if broken. That definitely doesn't sit well. And there is the fact that you are sticking a metal rod down the barrel and hop-up, but I find the piston longevity issues to be more concerning myself.

Seriously, if you are proficient enough to swap in this piston and piston head and actually tune everything such that it can last somewhat well with this, you are more than proficient enough to swap a spring. If you are that concerned about the ability to change FPS while at the field or something, get an ICS where you can swap springs in less than two minutes.
